Eden from Anton Bauer wants to be your personal power grid

Anton Bauer has launched a new power solution for the film and TV industry, the Anton Bauer Eden. Eden is a 2.5 kWh mobile power station that aims to deliver AC and DC power anywhere you need it.

Power on demand

The Anton Bauer Eden uses Lithium-ion batteries to give you 2500Wh of portable power. It features two 120V AC power outlets to run your lights, cameras, and other equipment while on location. There are also four USB-C outputs, two of which are USB-C PD ports.

In addition, Eden’s large 3.3-inch color screen shows the remaining runtime, time to full when charging, as well as system and fault information.

Pure sine wave

The Anton Bauer Eden features pure sine wave output for reliable and high-quality performance. This form of AC closely mimics the electricity supplied by utility grids. As such, it is ideal for powering sensitive electronic devices like cameras, audio equipment and lighting systems used on set.

Eden functions as a seamless uninterruptible power supply (UPS), to protect you from power outages.

Charging

You can recharge the Anton Bauer Eden from 0% to 100% in under 4 hours from a standard AC outlet. This means you won’t have much downtime between uses. You can also use Eden’s eco-friendly solar (photovoltaic) charging when you’re away from a mains power source. The maximum power of photovoltaic charging is 500 W but it can vary depending on the weather conditions.

Build

The Anton Bauer Eden is relatively compact, measuring 18.35 inches (46.6 cm) high, 9.17 inches (23.3 cm) wide, and 20.91 inches (53.1 cm) deep. Despite its rugged aluminum construction, the mobile power station comes in at a hefty 64 pounds (29 kg) however. Importantly for film and video use, Eden is silent in operation, unlike a generator. In addition, it is dustproof and waterproof with an IP-65 rating so it will stand up to the challenges of filming outdoors.

What we think

The Anton Bauer Eden is a great solution for powering your kit when you are away from a main connection. With its pure sine wave output, you can use it to run sensitive equipment such as cameras, lights, and computers without fear of damage. It’s also good to have the option solar recharging when you are out on location. The one downside is the premium price, so consider alternatives from companies such as DJI, EcoFlow and Bluetti if you want to buy a mobile power station.

Pricing and availability

The Anton Bauer Eden mobile power station retails for $3,699 and should start shipping this month.
