AtomX SSDmini offers up to 2 TB of storage for Atomos recorders

New from Sony, Angelbird’s AtomX SSDmini is an SSD made for the also new Atomos Ninja V and other Atomos monitor recorders.

The AtomX SSDmini isn’t just a one trick pony. It is also compatible with all the other Atomos recorders too. Sizewise, the SSDmini is about 20 percent smaller than the average SSD. Why so small? Besides portability, it’s designed small to fit into the smaller footprint of the Ninja V. As for capacity, the drive comes in 2 TB, 1 TB and 550 GB capacities. It can reach read speeds of 550 MB/s and write speeds of 500 MB/s. Plus, it captures CDNG at up to 4K 30p, ProRes Raw HQ 5.7K up to 30p, 4K 60p, and 2K 240p.

Built strong

Anglebrid says that “Whether you are shooting in the desert or the snow-packed mountains, the AtomX SSDmini by Angelbird is your reliable partner.” It’s built to withstand a lot of punishment, being shock, temperature, X-Ray and magnet proof.

Adapter handle

The AtomX SSDmini is supposed to ensure perfect docking to the SATA port with its Atomos Master Caddy guide rail system. Thanks to the adapter handle, the card is compatible with the entire Atomos range of Ninja and Shogun devices. That includes the Sumo19, Sumo19M, and Shogun Studio.

Prices for the AtomX SSDmini starts at $199.
