After the release of the AtomOS firmware 10.61 upgrade, Atomos Ninja V users can record timelapse and with the addition of the AtomX SDI module cross convert between HDMI/SDI video sources.
Here’s a breakdown of the firmware update.
Ninja V timelapse
Ninja V users can record timelapse sequences where all frames become a single video file. The recordings are possible in ProRes, Dnx and ProRes Raw over HDMI and SDI. In addition to this, users can capture a customizable set of sequences by changing:
- The number of frames/seconds captured
- Captured every frames/seconds/minutes/hours
- For the duration specified in frames/seconds/minutes/hours
Ninja V Leica SL2S L-log monitoring
The V with AtomOS 10.61 will now be capable of monitoring Leica L-log gamma in BT2020
gamut from the Leica SL2S.
Improved HDMI and SDI inputs signal locking
The update brings about a new compatibility mode for both HDMI and SDI inputs. This mode improves signal locking from specific cameras, like Z Cam cameras and the Canon EOS – 1DX MIII on 4Kp50 and 60p video. Additionally, uses will see increased stability of input and output locking for 12G SDI.
Cross convert HDMI/SDI video source
The update allows HDMI or SDI connections to be cross converted, DCI cropped, and 4k to HD down converted for video signals. There’s no need for additional converters. By combining Ninja V and AtomX SDI module, you can add a additional Activation key to unlock RAW functionality for the SDI module. However, you need to purchase additional activation through the Atomos website.
