Aputure adds new DMX and CRMX features to INFINIMAT family with firmware update

Aputure has released a firmware update for its INFINIMAT family of rental-grade inflatable mat lighting. The new firmware adds new features to DMX and CRMX control, as well as to the factory settings and user interface.

INFINIMAT light mats

Aputure’s INFINIMAT tunable color inflatable light mats come with a clear airbag for rigidity. You also get interchangeable diffusion so that you can choose how soft the light output is. There are a range of sizes from as small as one foot by two feet all the way up to the largest 20 feet by 20 feet panels.  Aputure says that the INFINIMATs are significantly higher in brightness than competitors of the same size, up to double the intensity. In addition, you can control multiple INFINIMATs from a single control box.

New features

The new firmware for the INFINIMAT light mats is version 1.4. After the update you can independently set DMX addresses per port. The new firmware also adds the DMX Status Screen to support multiple DMX addresses.

Plus, there are updated Factory Reset and Sidus BT shortcuts. The CRMX Settings interface has been updated with improved RX behavior and a better menu structure. The default factory settings have been updated as well, including HSIC+ default mode, SAT default 0, Studio Mode ON, sACN default protocol, Static IP default and Art-Net Universe 1.

Improvements

Firmware version 1.4 delivers a lot of other improvements too. These include improved DMX performance and improved CRMX behavior. As a result, proper signal strength is now displayed when no DMX data is present. The update also implements updated fan mode logic and an improved Fan Mode structure.

Additionally, the INFINIMATs now have better smoothing algorithms, and improved power allocation logic on restart. The update brings several improvements to the user interface consistency along with a number of bug fixes as well.

What we think

Aputure’s INFINIMAT light mats are professional lights designed to withstand the rough handling on a professional set. They offer a quick and easy way to deploy light mats and deliver highly accurate tunable color light. With the latest firmware update, Aputure has further improved the options for DMX and CRMX control to get the most out of your INFINIMATs. If you use lights from the INFINIMAT family, you should update the firmware as soon as you can.
