Apple has launched some powerful new updates for its Creator Studio suite of apps. The company added new AI capabilities, which Apple says make Creator Studio even more connected, capable and intelligent. Final Cut Pro in particular has gained several new features for Mac-based video editors.
Generate Captions
Final Cut Pro’s new AI tools start with Generate Captions. It uses on-device AI to transcribe your audio, then builds subtitles perfectly in sync in the timeline. You can animate the style of the subtitles as well as customize their font, color and position.
Edit Detection runs on-device too. It analyzes rendered video and automatically splits it back into the original clips on the timeline. That’s handy when you want to refine your edit or quickly assemble a cut-down highlight clip for social media.
Auto Mask
Auto Mask is another new Final Cut Pro tool powered by on-device AI. It recognizes subjects like skin, hair, sky, foliage and clothing, so no manual tracking is needed. Pair it with Magnetic Mask for complete control over exactly what to identify, track and mask.
Other new Final Cut Pro features
Apple says the reimagined Match Color produces more accurate, natural color matches across a wider range of footage and lighting conditions. Advanced Trimming lets you fine-tune incoming and outgoing frames one at a time. Creator Themes now support multiple aspect ratios, dynamic titles and customizable backgrounds.
Motion and Compressor
Motion now supports vector graphics natively, so they stay crisp at any resolution. Distribute Layers delivers a dramatically faster setup of complex animations. Over in Compressor, you get an Immersive Metadata Viewer, 180-degree Apple Projected Media Profile support for Apple Vision Pro and an Anaglyph View for stereoscopic video preview.
Pixelmator Pro
The updates integrate the power of Pixelmator Pro across Apple Creator Studio. You can now send a chosen frame directly to Pixelmator Pro from Final Cut Pro, then drop the content back into your timeline. It’s ideal for creating custom thumbnails or social media graphics.
The integration reaches Apple’s productivity apps too. Select an image in a Keynote, Pages or Numbers document, then open it in Pixelmator Pro to edit with the full suite of tools. Any changes save back to the document automatically. All four apps can now generate vector shapes as well. Apple has also expanded Pixelmator Pro with advanced image generation and access to the Content Hub.
Music creation
Apple says the Logic Pro updates make music creation more intelligent, immediate and inspiring. The rebuilt Chord ID brings even more accuracy to harmonic analysis. There’s also a new Producer Project that reveals the complete Logic Pro session behind “Shoulda Never,” produced by Khris Riddick-Tynes.
Logic Pro and MainStage both gain a new granular sync mode in Alchemy. It arrives alongside a Granular Alchemy Sound Pack, a curated collection of loops and presets built specifically for the new mode.
What we think
Apple launched its Creator Studio suite of programs at the start of the year. There was some concern at the time over the move toward a subscription model rather than one-off purchases. The latest round of updates, though, shows the benefits available to those who subscribe. Final Cut Pro alone gains multiple AI-powered tools that make editing easier for Mac users. Most run on-device as well, so you don’t have to worry about uploading your content to the cloud. With improvements across most of the Creator Studio programs, subscribers should download the updates now.

The updates for Apple Creator Studio are available now and free to existing subscribers. New subscriptions cost $13 per month or $129 for an annual plan.
