Adobe Premiere Pro 22.2 remixes songs for your videos

Adobe has released version 22.2 of Adobe Premiere Pro. The February update includes new features and performance improvements alongside stability fixes.

Remix is an exciting new feature in Premiere Pro 22.2. The feature uses Adobe Sensei AI to retime songs to a specified duration. It analyzes the patterns and dynamics in songs to create new arrangements that match the duration you need. In addition, you can fine-tune the remixed track to your tastes using the new Segments and Variations sliders available in the Essential Sound panel.

Offline Speech To Text

Another major development Premiere Pro 22.2 is that Speech To Text is now available for offline use. Previous versions of the software required your audio tracks to be uploaded so that automated transcription could take place. Speech To Text on-device is now done on your own computer, using the power of your CPU. Adobe also claims that on current hardware, transcriptions are twice as fast and up to thrice as fast on Intel Core i9 and Apple M1 systems. Currently, Speech to Text in Adobe Premiere Pro supports 13 languages. The English language pack comes installed by default with Premiere Pro’s installation. Also, you can install other languages packs as required.

Faster exports

The new update delivers a big performance improvement when exporting 10-bit 4:2:0 HDR footage on Windows systems with Intel or NVIDIA GPUs. Adobe claims that 10-bit 4:2:0 HDR HEVC hardware encoding is up to 10-times faster on these devices.

More GPU accelerated effects

The update also adds GPU acceleration for more effects, including Linear Wipe and Block Dissolve. This means faster performance for these effects. It will also deliver smoother playback during editing and faster rendering and exporting.

Apple MacBook Pro support

Adobe Premiere Pro 22.2 now supports footage shot with the new Canon EOS R5 C camera. In addition, for users of 2021 MacBook Pro models, in fullscreen mode, Premiere Pro 22.2 automatically adjusts UI elements to account for the notch in the screen.

Pricing and availability

Adobe Premiere Pro 22.2 is available now for subscribers via Adobe’s Creative Cloud app.
