Acer launches new Intel Core Ultra laptop with AI Boost

Acer has announced the upcoming release of new models in its AI-ready Acer Swift Go 14 laptop series. The laptops are powered by Intel Core Ultra processors with Intel Arc graphics and Intel AI Boost.

Intel Core Ultra 7 processors

The Acer Swift Go 14 features the new Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor. These processors also come equipped with Intel AI Boost which acts as a dedicated AI engine. In addition, the Intel Ultra Core H Series processors have a built-in Intel Arc GPU which delivers optimized performance and immersive experiences for gaming or content creation.

Intel Evo Edition

The Acer Swift Go 14 is verified as an Intel Evo Edition platform laptop. As such, it conforms to enhanced performance requirements along with features such as instant wake and fast charging. The laptop also has an extended battery life of up to 12.5 hours. In addition, with Intel Unison, the Acer Swift Go 14 can be paired with Android or iOS devices when running Windows 11. This delivers an integrated experience for file transfers, calling, messaging and device management on a single screen.

Other AI features

Streaming and videoconferencing with the Swift Go 14’s 1440p QHD webcam is more responsive and requires less power thanks to AI-supported technology. Acer’s PurifiedVoice also removes unwanted background noises from your streams. In addition, Acer PurifiedView makes sure you look the best. The feature enables background blur, automatic framing and gaze correction. Acer AlterView utilizes AI-generated depth maps to convert 2D images into animated wallpapers, with added 3D effects.

OLED display

The Acer Swift Go 14 series laptops come with display options of up to a 2.8K resolution (2,880 x 18,000) OLED panel. This features 100% DCI-P3, VESA Display HDR True Black 500 certification and 90 Hz refresh rate. You can also get a version with a WUXGA (1,920 x 12,000) touchscreen if you prefer to tap and swipe when working.

CoPilot

Copilot in Windows uses AI to help whether you are working, creating, or just playing. CoPoilot has been designed to accelerate tasks, and save you time by providing personalized answers, inspiration and task assistance. It can also help to summarize a web page, compose an email, change your laptop’s PC settings or even generate an image. It also delivers AI capabilities made in apps including Paint, Snipping Tool and Photos.

Lightweight

The Acer Swift Go 14 has an aluminum chassis which keeps it thin and lightweight. The laptop weighs just over 46 ounces (1.32 kg) and is only 0.6 inches (14.9 mm) deep. In addition, the Swift Go 14 features an eco-friendly OceanGlass touchpad, made from recycled ocean-bound plastic. The touchpad is also 44% larger than on previous models, making control easier.

What we think

The Acer Swift Go 14 looks to be a mid-priced laptop with good specifications. The OLED screen with 100% DCI-P3 support makes it good for video as DCI-P3 is the color space for movies at the cinema. If the processor and memory is sufficiently powerful, then the Acer Swift Go 14 could be an ideal laptop for content creators on the go.

Pricing and availability

The Acer Swift Go 14 will be available in North America in January 2024. Pricing starts at $799.
