MemberIt will be used for online videos and videos that will be shown on television and computer screens. The results need to be semi-professional at least. The budget is <1000,- for the camera and accessories.
I have no experience with videography and have a background in photography. What do I need to look out for? From what I've read, I understood that an external microphone would be a requirement. Is that true?
Would studio lights be a good investment for videography or this generally not as much of a necessity as with photography?
What other additional accessories would be a requirement? -

MemberA higher resolution or bigger zoom range doesn’t make the camera better. I’ll repeat: you’re never looking for the camera with the most megapixels or longest zoom.

For the external microphone, it not a most, but the quality is better and you can direct it directly on the actors, so it better because first you hear them better, second it will get more the sound you want and not all the surrounding…so is it a most no, but it always depend of what you making.
For the studio lights, it is as important as with photography….even more, if you use greenscreen, lightning there is very important.
