Commission-based pay for a videographer and editor?
This belongs on Craigslist.
Totally agree with both posts. Where's the love for filmmakers and editors? No pay, no way (especially in this economy)!
teamsmo2013 reflects the cynical notion that " someone " will respond ( most likely a student ), gambling on the outside chance that this could be their " big break ". Unless a project is mounted between friends or students one should be aware that a truely commercial venture ( capable of providing some differed reward ) will have capitalized their project at least to the extent that basic costs/expenses can be covered.
Honestly Rick, you nailed it with that explanation. Budgets are not only an indication that you're going to be reimbursed for your time and expertise (which takes years and dedication to get), but shows that the client has thought their business venture through. It's always wise to be extremely wary of anyone who asks you to do something for free!
