I'm trying to find a tool that simply splices video together. I've tried "Movie Creator" "Movie Moments", "Simple Video Trim and Merge", and "Animotica", and "VLC". They all seem sub par. I just want to be able to put markers in the video at different time stamps to create chapters, and then be able to manipulate those spliced segments however I want. For example in a 2 hour home video, I want to segment it up into 100 clips, and categories them by who is in the scene. This way I can compose video segments that are applicable to a particular group or family member. Any ideas for a product that will save me time? One idea I had was to try "PowerDirector", but that is $99 and might be overkill for what I want to do: indexing and video splicing.
