Ok, took some great footage the other day, then took some quick action and did not notice I had bumped my zoom button and the footage was zoomed in too far
Was told by a person that camcorders record outside the zoomed area but it takes some finesse to retrieve taht footage. They told me their Cannon records 4 feet outside the area
Is this true ? and if so how do I retrieve the footage
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never heard of a camera doing that. I believe what you have is what you get. I rarely go 5 seconds without looking at the monitor or having my eye in the cup. Sorry to say I think your stuck.
I think that person may have been referring to the electronic image stabilization function that initially records the full sensor image but then crops it down to the common areas of each frame to keep the image stable. I do not believe the data is recoverable.
