Calling all Miami-Dade County School students in Grades 4-12!
Win $1,000 for your school and $300 for yourself!
Pinecrest Gardens would like to invite students from Grades 4-12 to enter our first ever video contest. Contestants will make a short video, 1-3 minutes in length, which identifies one of the 7 types of environmental pollution. Please choose only one type of pollution. Each video must also demonstrate a proposed solution for the pollution issue that is identified in the video. You may demonstrate more than one solution. Students are encouraged to be creative. The types of environmental pollution include the following:
1.Air Pollution (i.e. contamination of air)
2.Water Pollution (i.e. contamination of any type of water)
3.Noise Pollution (i.e. loud sounds disruptive to humans or animals)
4.Thermal Pollution (i.e. increase of temperature due to human activity)
5.Light Pollution (i.e. improper community lighting)
6.Land Pollution (i.e. deterioration of Earthâ€™s surface by improper waste disposal)
7.Visual Pollution (i.e. anything that is visually disruptive to nearby landscape)
Each video should also demonstrate a proposed solution for the pollution issue that is chosen.
The Pinecrest Gardens, â€œPollution Solutionsâ€ video contest begins at 12:01 a.m. (Eastern Time) Monday, February 2, 2015, and concludes at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time) Thursday, April 2, 2015. All entries must be submitted by the contest deadline. Late entries will not be accepted. Finalists will present their video on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Pinecrest Gardens Earth Day Event.
