I shot a bunch of footage 2 years ago on my Cannon 60D and it's been gathering dust on an old hard drive for some time until a week ago when I got around to editing it only to find out it wouldn't play in any medium. I've tried mpeg streamclip, quicktime pro, VLC, FCPX and converting it with compressor but nothing has worked.

The files are .MOV and quicktime immediately starts converting then reports "can't open". Any suggestions?
