I am trying to convert some old cartoons to better quality/resolution, hopefully HD.
Currently they are in MP4 format, resolution of 708×578.
I am using HD Video Converter Factory Pro 10.
Every time I try to convert the video to hd 1080p it keeps the 708×578 resolution.
First question, what is the highest quality/resolution I can scale up to?
Secondly, what file type is best to convert it to, if my end plans are to burn it to blu ray?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
You can up-scale it to 1280 x 1020 for full HD. However, as it at a low resolution already it will not improve or look better with up-scaling.
If you want to try, download the free MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5. Though it dates from 2012, this is one of the most comprehensive file converters.
