I hope someone out there can help with my issue. I just purchased a brand new Rode NTG-1 Condenser Shotgun Mic and I decided to use it in some test footage. The issue is that I am only getting audio to come in on one speaker. To clue you in on how its set up, I ordered an XLR cable for it, and I have it plugged into a Canon XA-10 with the +48V switch set to on (as per the manual), the switch is set to "EXT" and the ATT is left "OFF." Please tell me there is something I can do to fix this issue. Thank you for reading this.
there's nothing to fix, you bought a mono mic so it goes to one channel. You will have to add the audio to the other channel in post.

I bought the same mic and I thought I had the same "problem" until was explained it is a mono mic going into one channel only.
