Hi, I'm going to be getting a T2i after Christmas and for now I will be mainly using it to film snowboarding. I was just wondering what accessories are kind've a must have. I'm pretty sure I will want to get a stabilizer and maybe a tripod? I'm not sure. I was also wondering if the stock lens (18-55mm) would be fine for right now because I don't know if I will want to spend the money on another lens right now, or if I even can.

I would suggest the following:
Lens hood for flares.
tripod for stabilization.
fisheye lens great for sports.
telephoto for far away.

If you are trying to ride and film at the same time, I suggest a steering wheel rig. You'll see people on the mountain with them from time to time. They're comfortable and easy to use. Here is one for sale on amazon.. but you can just as easily make one yourself out of a steering wheel from the junkyard. http://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-595B-Camera-Stabilizer-Support/dp/B0009Z0WCC
If you're going to be standing and filming in one place, I'd get a tripod or monopod. I prefer the monopod because it fits in the snow tool loops perfectly on my dakine backpack, and its only a $15 piece of equipment.
As far as lenses go, for action shots and follow shots a nice 10-24 or 10-20 wide angle would be perfect. The Sigma 10-20 3.5 lens is the best one of those I've seen. Your current lense will do just fine for the time being, but if you find yourself having a hard time getting your subject to stay in the frame you might want to move to a wider angle.
Post a vid on this thread when you get the camera so we can check that steez!

Thanks a lot! I was looking at the different stabilizers and I think i will be getting something more of the lines of http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003PBB4ME/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=A1P9QRDRYY6FXL…the steering wheel rig is a little too expensive for me now. A 16gb transcend memory card should be ok right? From what i've read, shooting at 1080p with a 16gb card would give me about 48 minutes of filming. I'll also be getting some lens filters.

snowrider – I would spend $21 for a Komputerbay 32GB card. I use these and they are great value for the money. And for filters, I recommend a basic 3 filter set – UV, Circular Polarizing and Fluorescent.
Hope this is helpful and best of the holidays,
Thanks! This helps a lot bill. So I ordered all of my equipment today and I actually ordered a T3i instead because after comparing the two, they are almost identical. Although I could get the T3i for a little cheaper. I ordered the exact same filter kit because of the great ratings and it had the lens hood. I also ordered the camera in a bundle package http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-Camera-18-55mm-75-300mm/dp/B004Q79BIA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356196403&sr=8-1&keywords=t3i+bundle. I decided to get that one because of the lens. I saved a bunch of money getting it in a package because alone it wouldve cost me around $165 and I know i will use it for photos. I also got http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-Professional-Camcorder-Stabilizing-Handle-/dp/B003PBB4ME/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1356196549&sr=1-1&keywords=opteka+x-grip. and http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Class-Flash-Memory-TS16GSDHC10E/dp/B003VNKNEQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1356196585&sr=1-1&keywords=16gb+transend…I'll probably end up getting another memory card but I figured this will do for right now. lastly i ordered http://www.amazon.com/58MM-Professional-Accessory-CANON-REBEL/dp/B0053V5MF4/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1356196660&sr=1-2&keywords=3+filter+set+t3i. Hopefully these were a good choice. Once I get them I will upload a video with the new setup. Thanks for all the help and let me know what you think about the purchase!
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!
