I have a Small Canon FS10 with a 3.5 external microphone plugin and was wondering if I could pull the sound from the headphone port on our Yamaha MG32/14FX mixing board to get exactly what is coming through the mics going to mixer and not all the background noise cameras usually pick up with external mic.? If not what can I do with this camera mixer combo? Just a small church but want the best quality with what we have., thanks.
You could do that but there are better ways to tap audio off your console. I would recommend that you use an aux send to feed your camera. This way you can provide a dedicated mix to your camera, as your mix for front of house may not be ideal for a mix for video.
