Hi adir2015 – if you’re planning to put the mic on top of the camera, the best bang for your buck is probably the new $249 Azden SGM-250 with the hot shoe mount included: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XWG2YBW/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00XWG2YBW&linkCode=as2&tag=videomaker22forum-20
You’ll need a $23 Hosa MIT-156 XLR to 3.5mm transformer adapter to plug it into your camera: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FC4YR58/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00FC4YR58&linkCode=as2&tag=videomaker22forum-20
This setup will get you started, but to get the best audio, you’ll want to use some kind of external preamp to deal with your camera’s noisy internal preamps – and you’ll want to get the mic off the camera, onto a boom and closer to your subject.
With respect to on-camera lighting, I recommend a fing light for soft, even lighting. I use a $199 F&V R-300 ring light: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AY0J4OY/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00AY0J4OY&linkCode=as2&tag=videomaker22forum-20
I bought a $40 rail mount to put it on my rig: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GMYA9LI/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00GMYA9LI&linkCode=as2&tag=videomaker22forum-20
Here’s what my setup looks like: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-wWlBBqsdRus/VIL4-FTrqcI/AAAAAAAAJPA/RSHe2532sh8/w965-h543-no/P1090312.JPG
Hope this is helpful and good luck!
