How to approach client situation

      The editing deck "ate" the first 12 inches of a mini-DV tape of a bar mitzvah video. Need suggestions on how to handle this tech-mishap with the client.

      Technical problems are a reality of the business and all you can do is appologize, offer SIGNIFICANT discounts and pray that 12 inches wasn't crititical footage.

      Basically, finish the job to the best of your ability and be prepared to give them all of their money back.

      Just give them the money back to them.


      Although I think these days mini DV tape is more risky than dslr camera.
