I am back after a couple years away from here!

Sinfully, I left my ND filter at the church. For this shot I opted for a wide open aperture, so I needed to crank my shutter speed way up. I have tried the motion blur envelope in Vegas, but it looked like a bad acid trip. I have looked at a few motion blur tutorials for After Effects, but I cannot seem to get it to do anything to my video. Most of them seem to be adding motion blur to animations created within after effects. Is there anything I can do to help this? Is there something I am doing wrong?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you in advance!

The link above shows my video with original and vegas produced motion blur.
