Hi
If I film interviews in my rented apt for a documentary, do I need a location release from my landlord?

I’m no legal expert, but I seriously doubt you would need a release or anyone’s permission to shoot video inside your place of residence. Where you could run into an issue is if you have artwork in the background. Even if you own the artwork, there are, under some instances rules and regulations as to how that artwork can be “reproduced” I’ve known of film makers who have had issues even when “public art” has appeared in the background of their image.
