I’m a filmmaker, and I do mainly narrative fiction. I already have a lot of what I need to do my films (and what I don’t own, I rent… like lights). But time has come to buy a new and better camera that suits my filmmaking needs and I have a 5k budget.
I guess my main criteria would be:
1 РNo moir̩ and other videoish artifacts
2 – Sharp and squeaky-clean sensor (35mm or full frame, so I can use my Nikon glass)
3 – RAW recording
4 – Dynamic Range!!
5 – Must be good with low light situations
6 – Good audio preamps and connections
I absolutely love the Alexa look, but it’s completely out of my ballpark. So the next best thing I’ve encountered is the Ursa mini 4.6k. What do you guys think? Anyone suggests a different camera? I must say somethings I read online are a bit scary, like people saying some Ursas have vignetting issues, FPN and others don’t… If I’m going to spend 5k on a camera, it must be flawless at least and what it’s supposed to do…
Thanks for any help 🙂
Also FS5, or C100ii if RAW isn’t a dealbreaker
