Historically in the US the FAA has had sole authority over airspace but some are lobbying for a patchwork of state and local laws governing drones.
We need to come to a happy medium with dealing with drones and the government. Possible fixes including smart technology that keeps drones from flying too high or going into “no-fly” zones by accident or by design. Government needs to streamline rule and regulations that keep the public safe without infringing on too many of the pilots liberties while trying to film a particular scene of the movie.
