So, I’m working on a project of 5 minute documentaries about hospital employees. My issue is, I can’t shoot inside of the hospital at the time. This limits what I can possibly do for B roll footage.
I am doing a formal interview with the health care professionals where they are sitting down and answering questions. I just don’t know what to add to make it visually appealing, without breaking any laws (a lot of HIPPA issues and legal to shoot in hospital).
Any suggestion on shooting and pre-production for this?

Have you thought about buying off-the-shelf B roll video shot in a hospital environment?

I shot in a hospital a few years ago, and agreed to simply blur out any patient faces caught on camera – as well as let a hospital administrator view the final production prior to its release. I did, and my client and the hospital were both pleased with the results. Talk to a hospital admin, and make them a similar offer… It never hurts to ask.
