What you can expect to see at NAB 2025

It’s time once again for NAB Show in Las Vegas, and the 2025 show focuses on storytelling in broadcast, media and entertainment. With the tagline “Storytelling at Scale,” NAB is set to kick off April 5th in Las Vegas. The show will run until April 9th.

2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas will cover many topics and give attendees a chance to see emerging trends in video production right now.

Let’s round up all we can expect to see at this year’s NAB Show.

NAB’s focus: Create, connect and capitalize

This year at NAB, there’s a strong focus on three guiding principles: Create, Connect and Capitalize. Every event will fall into one of these three categories. There are five major topics shaping these categories: artificial intelligence (AI), the creator economy, streaming, cloud virtualization and sports. Here’s a general look at what to expect (we’ll go over specific events soon):

Create

The Create pillar centers on the entire content pipeline, from pre-production to post-production. That means you’ll see the latest cameras, lenses, audio gear, lighting tools and production workflows. You’ll also get a chance to try fresh equipment. Since storytelling is at the heart of this year’s show, there will be sessions on advanced production methods and behind-the-scenes peeks at new editing software and post-production workflows.

You can expect topics like:

  • 360 capture and production
  • 8K and 12K
  • AI
  • Audio mixers
  • Audio processing and effects
  • Audio production and recording
  • Cameras and lenses
  • Camera accessories, devices and software
  • Lighting and grip
  • Microphones
  • Motion picture/film production
  • Music and sound libraries
  • Switchers
  • Television/video production
  • Voice AI, voice recognition and language processing

Events for this category will mostly take place in the North Hall and South Hall Lower.

Connect

Under the Connect banner, NAB Show focuses on distribution and delivery. This covers network infrastructure, cloud computing and content management platforms. It’s all about delivering media in the most efficient way so audiences can watch it anytime and anywhere.

Key Connect topics include:

  • Audio production and processing
  • Content discovery solutions
  • Content protection/security
  • Automation tools

Capitalize

The Capitalize category explores how media creators and businesses can reach new audiences and boost revenue. Sessions will cover next-gen tech, creative advertising models and data-driven ways to bring in more income from content.

In the Capitalize area, major themes include:

  • Streaming/OTT
  • Streaming media devices
  • AI
  • Advertising and media sales solutions

Sports Summit: A three-day dive into the future of sports media

One of the biggest additions this year is the Sports Summit, set for April 6-8. This three-day event will explore how modern tech is transforming the fan experience and unlocking new revenue. Highlights include live sports production advances, media rights negotiations and the rising impact of Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST) channels.

Award-winning filmmaker Gotham Chopra, co-founder of “Religion of Sports,” will deliver a keynote titled “PEAK HUMAN: Unleashing the Champion Within.” He’ll discuss the cultural significance of sports storytelling and how athletic narratives spark a pursuit of human potential. Karen Chupka, NAB’s executive vice president and managing director of Global Connections and Events, points out that live sports are captivating audiences in unprecedented ways and driving major opportunities for creators, broadcasters and sponsors.

If you’re eager to connect with top sports brands, you’ll find names like AWS, ARRI, Avid Technology, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Ross Video, Sony and Verizon Business on the NAB Show floor.

Creator Economy: Where DIY storytelling meets big business

Valued at more than $191 billion, the creator economy has changed how we think about media. Tens of millions of professional content creators are working on independent projects, building online followings and finding new ways to make a living telling stories on digital platforms.

NAB Show will host Forbes Top Creator Dhar Mann, known for his positive messages and large-scale scripted productions. In his Main Stage talk, “The Power of Positivity: Building the World’s Largest Digital Scripted Studio — Dhar Mann Studios,” he’ll discuss how independent creators can finance projects, grow massive online audiences and push the boundaries of modern storytelling.

If you’re after hands-on training, the Creator Lab, powered in partnership with Blackmagic Design, is the place to be. It expands on last year’s debut and offers more education, plus interactive sessions on topics such as:

  • AI as a creative partner
  • Winning the algorithm war
  • The power of authenticity

The creator economy has become a major force in how stories are funded and distributed, and NAB Show plans to shine a spotlight on that shift by putting creators front and center.

Business of entertainment: Inside the changing media landscape

In partnership with The Ankler, NAB Show debuts a two-day program called Business of Entertainment. This track will give an inside look at how media dealmaking, content bundling, new ad models and the blend of Hollywood with the creator economy are reshaping the industry. Expect candid panels and sharp analysis of how audiences are engaging with content in fresh ways.

WWE fans will also hear from Nick Khan, the company’s president, and Paul “Triple H” Levesque, its chief content officer. They’ll talk about WWE’s evolution, including worldwide expansion, talent development, innovative storytelling and emerging technologies.

AI at the 2025 NAB Show

It’s no surprise that artificial intelligence (AI) is front and center this year. AI is everywhere, from aiding creative editing workflows to generating entire scripts. According to Straits Research, the global AI media and entertainment market could exceed $104.4 billion by 2030.

Karen Chupka, NAB’s executive vice president and managing director of Global Connections and Events, notes that AI has transformed how creators tell stories, engage audiences and speed up production. NAB Show 2025 will reflect that in several ways:

AI-focused training and workshops

The expanded AI Track at Post|Production World digs deeper into AI’s role in content generation, editing and storytelling. Attendees can go hands-on with popular AI tools, such as Descript, Runway, Adobe Premiere Pro and Firefly. For more in-depth skills, you can sign up for the AI Broadcast TV Workshop, AI VFX & Motion Workshop or AI Video Editing Workshop. These sessions will help you add AI to your workflows without losing your creative edge.

Ethics, IP protection and the risks of AI

AI brings new opportunities, but it also raises ethical and legal questions. Sessions like “Safeguarding IP in the Era of AI: From Deepfakes to Digital Deception” will cover ways creators can protect their content. Dan Neely, CEO of Vermillio and one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in AI, will lead that discussion.

Another hot topic is how to stand out when AI models become widespread. “DeepSeek and the New Reality: Progress or Pandora’s Box” will dig into how media companies can stay unique while handling issues around ethics and governance. These talks underscore NAB Show’s mission to help the industry navigate AI’s risks and rewards.

AI Innovation Pavilion

Beyond panels and workshops, you can explore the AI Innovation Pavilion, a hub for cutting-edge tech. Sponsored by AWS, it features a lounge that encourages networking among tech pioneers and content creators. You’ll also find emerging startups in “PropelME and on the Startup Stage,” where they’ll demo how AI can transform production, distribution and monetization.

Why you should attend NAB Show 2025

From new tech demos to expert-led sessions, NAB Show 2025 is shaping up as a top destination for everyone from production managers to independent creators. The show’s main themes — Create, Connect and Capitalize — tie together the major trends shaping media right now. With AI taking on a bigger role in everything from day-to-day editing to large-scale studio production, there’s never been a more important time to see how these tools will change our workflows.

Sports, streaming platforms and the growing creator economy are also set to make waves this year. If you’re hunting for fresh ideas, looking to sharpen your skills or hoping to meet fellow content makers, you’ll find it all on the show floor and in the conference halls.

It’s showtime
