I realize that the Canon ZR900 is not exactly a professional camcorder, but the colors seem awfully flat. I’m shooting in Vivid Colors and I tried a wide variety of paint swatches to establish a distinct look using the Custom White Balance but, while the picture looks sharp and vivid on the LCD, on my computer monitor AND on my television set, it’s still washed out and flat. Using the same swatch to establish the white balance under the same conditions, my Canon Powershot S3 IS, which is not a dedicated camcorder, shoots sharper and much more vivid colors.
I’ve tried playing with the flat footage in iMovie HD but I can’t get it much better. Is there anything I can do to get high-contrast and vivid colors out of the ZR900? Thanks.
