Hello -There are so many strong supporters of macs on these forums, so I would like to know _exactly_ what they use (hardware / software) to produce their work. I have only used minor software on a pc.
Hello -There are so many strong supporters of macs on these forums, so I would like to know _exactly_ what they use (hardware / software) to produce their work. I have only used minor software on a pc.
I got my Mac Pro in Sept 2007
Two 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors.
13GB of RAM.
250GB System Drive
750GB Scratch drive for projects and media
JVC SR-VS30 MiniDV deck connected via Firewire
JVC TM-H150C external Monitor
M-Audio DX4 speakers.
23" Apple Cinema Display, which was a waste of money
Final Cut Studio 2 and Adobe CS3 software.
This is the set up I used through college - editing miniDV footage. Since graduating in July, more people are having me edit HD so I've been saving up for upgrades:
2 more internal drives to better organize project files and media
G-Speed es RAID connect via eSATA for captured video
AJA Kona LHi
Gonna sell my Apple monitor and get 2 Acer monitors.
Most of the HD footage I editing was delivered in SD, but when they want HD delivery I will probably get an FSI monitor.

Thanks for the reply Rob. Was this your first mac, or did you start with something less powerful?
I started with an iBook in 2004. Then got an iMac. Then got the Mac Pro
