  I’m a commercial producer who uses an outdated discreet edit 6.0. I put in for a new Mac G5 at work. Corporate said no mac… You can only get a pc. Now, I’m searching for a high-end editing platform for PC. Looked at Smoke from discreet. It is amazing but a little over-priced for my needs. Any thoughts or suggestions…

  sony vegas 6 is a solid NLE for the PC. Too bad you can’t get the mac though, Final Cut Pro would have been your best bet.

  I guess it depends on your budget but I’d say look at AVID or Adobe Video Collection.
