GuestNewbie here. I found this business website (see link below) that has an awsome Demo Reel. After going to this site: http://www.robinsondesign.net/weddingvideo/viewwork.html
Click on Demo Reel 1. Does anyone know what kind of software they used to make some of the examples in Reel 1? I like the footage of petals and leaves falling, and the text is written on the petals and leaves.
I would love to make something like this. Anyone’s help, ideas, and suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried out several software programs (DVD Showbiz, Ulead Video, Pinnacle Studio 8. Magix,)
Thank you,
Susie Griffith -

InactiveI didn’t look at the whole video (got as far as the start of the photo montage) but it looks like a plugin called Shine was used for the lighting effects for the titles and the stained glass windows.
Check out http://www.trapcode.com/products_shine.html
Everything else looked like it could have been done in any number of digital video editing packages (premiere, ulead, final cut)

ParticipantThat’s a preety good demo reel! I agree this could be any Professional NLE. I’ve never used Adobe or Final cut but i’m sure they both can accomplish those effects. The demo reel used alot of layering, motion effects, blur and light ray effects. I use Vegas and most the effects on the reel can be achieved with it. With little practice and tinkering around you can create some awesome effects with some simple effects that are included in your program.

ParticipantWhile many of the more popular pro/semi-pro programs will create these types of effects, you might consider some of the “pre-made” effects available, such as…
http://www.video100.com/showstoppersfx_weddingcollection03.html
http://www.animationsforvideo.com/html/hotcakes_we_vol1.htm
http://www.3dbackgrounds.com/wedding_animations.htmlI’m sure the “falling petals” is amongst this group, or similar product.
(FYI… these are from a simple Google search for “wedding stock video”)Hope this helps
