ParticipantHello,
I’m starting to play more and more with making small videos. I have a canon hv20.
I’m wanting to make an intro clip that’s rendered. I’m trying to find software that will allow me to easily render things like this:http://www.youtube.com/tmrctv#p/u/29/1-qg9fRn19E
Can someone please give me a fewrecommendations? Thank you.

ParticipantIf you are talking about the opening credits, that would be Adobe’s After Effects.

Memberkireol I'm not familiar with the offering (can't afford them) but you may want to take a look at:

or
Particle illusion 3 at: http://www.wondertouch.com/pillusions3.asp

MemberAs an alternative to the software plugins, there are several products based on the ready-to-use overlays with particles. Particulas is one of them – for creating floating dust effects.

ParticipantBasically Adobe After Effects is a industry standard for motion graphics. There is no real alternative for this program. It is really expensive but gives you HUGE possibilities. It is used to produce VFX, opening titles and more in many blockbusters (in Iron Man 3 all HUD elements were created in After Effects).
You can find many tutorials for these program here http://motionworks.net/ or here http://www.videocopilot.net/
However you may try HitFilm which is basically a cheapo copy of After Effects http://hitfilm.com/ . Short movie's Prism VFX were all created in it (check out Prism here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QoNouEfjuo ). It does not have such amount of free tutorials, plugins and possibilities overall BUT it still does a job.
But it really depends how deep do you want to go into these type of stuff.
