I am taping high school football games on a GL2 and then giving to tape to the coach who has a sony. He then tries to burn them on a DVD using a sony DVD recorder/vhs combo unit. We plug in the camera using the RCA connections and when we hit record, we get a copyright protected error, saying cannot record write protect tape. Is there a code that canon is putting on the tape that would prevent the tape being recorded using a sony or other brand mini dv camera? The tape plays fine on the camera and shows up on the tv going through the dvd burner, just is not allowing us to burn the dvd. Tried using S video cable also. Same result
How are you connecting to the RCA in ports, press play and record, it should work that way
