The drive works just fine when burning DVD video, but when I tried archiving a bunch of AVI files using NTI CD-Maker 6 onto these “High Quality 2X” discs from http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cdrdvdrmedia/hiqu4dvme2xs.html, the disc was burned at only 1x and a “Medium error” message. The discs that were burned were unreadable. (I’ll continue using these discs up for DVD video, but now I’m worried they won’t play in clients’ standalone players.) Consider yourself warned.

Has anyone tried using Prodisc brand DVD-R?
