I wasn’t one of the throngs who went to see Avatar in theaters. I waited ’til it came out on DVD. Well for $20 bucks I got what you usually get for only $15… just the movie, no special features whatsoever. Thank God I didn’t spend $25 bucks on the Blu-Ray ’cause it was the same deal. Despite gettin’ jipped, here’s the ‘making of Avatar’ video that should have been on the DVD. It’s 25 minutes long but if you’ve got the time, it’s worth a look.

Thanks to the guys at VisualFXtuts.com and Scifi Wire for putting this up for free (well you have to sit through commercials on the front and back ends.)

What a massive amount of work. I have to say that simul-cam is awesome. To actually see the basic composite live…how much computer power must be pushing that!

I admit I haven’t seen the film yet. I too was waiting on the DVD and still haven’t gotten around to it.
