ParticipantHello all, my production team Mutually Assured Productions has decided to host a film festival in Olympia Washington. We’ve been planning for months now, and are launching our website.
The festival will be a one day event on March 5th 2011. We will be showcasing short films of 15 minutes or less. If you, or anyone you know would like to submit, follow the link and check it out!
Thanks!

ParticipantI loved it!
Actually, it started out with the sound of my jaw hitting the floor and my thinking “how can I put this…” when you guys walked on screen. I hope you don’t get too many subs like the first 30 seconds!
Great!

ParticipantThanks birdcat, glad you dug it! I was a bit worried about people not being able to get past the first 30 seconds. I’ll risk it. The motivation behind this commercial is a direct response to our town’s local film festival. They’ve been running for 20+ years in a historic theater downtown. We submitted a couple of decent shorts to the short film portion of their week long festival. They didn’t accept our shorts, and some of the stuff they did accept looked like the first 30 seconds of this commercial.
Our purpose with OAFF is to provide a venue for filmmakers and movie watchers to see something in our community that isn’t intentionally crappy for the sake of “art.” Maybe I’m just bitter? I don’t know… maybe. But I also recognize good fillmmaking, and my town is long overdue for a different film festival.

ParticipantWe also shot another promo piece for it, this one is a bit too long to be considered a commercial. We just call it a short film to promote our short film festival;

Participant12/22/10 UPDATE: Due to a certain situation, namely lack of submissions, we at OAFF are dropping the $10 submission fee. That’s right, you can have your short film shown at OAFF for FREE! We’d love to show your movie! Send us a copy! Visit http://oaff.org for details!
