In narration editing it is often needed to shorten the talent’s speech by cutting out parts. In normal cases the talent’s tone gets lower at the end of the completed sentences.

Is there any audio effect or trick by which I can achieve nearly the same effect? (I use Adobe Premiere CS5.)

      Hi,

Try to use pitch control,… I use it in Adobe Audition. There is a similar process in CS5.

In Premiere Pro (I am using CS5.5) there is an audio transition called Continuous Power (or something very similar) – I use it all the time to do exactly what you have described. It works very well for what you are trying to achieve.
