I’m preparing to head to Peru to shoot my first documentary (whoo πŸ˜€ hoo!). I need an affordable solution, and an answer.

Is it mistaken of me to place a matte box in front of my wide angle lens?

Second: If not foolish, do any of you know where I can find on? The outside diameter of the wide angle lens is 93mm.

      Thanks

My PD170 is basically the same camera and it came with a wide angle lens and a lense hood. I’ve used them a few times and they work just fine. You will be able to shoot in full screen or letterbox with the lense hood in place.

      Thanks for the information.

Regarding a Matte box: Any suggestions before I buy one? I’ve seen several with various features and find the situation confusing. I appreciate any suggestions.

      Thanks
