      I have just purchased a Sony mini-dvd camcorder (301 model) with plans to put video clips into my teaching powerpoint lessons. Right now when I try to insert the movie clip, all I get on the screen is a big black box. The video is in mpeg format. Any ideas??

      The video is a VOB file. You have to convert to AVI or MPEG. You can use many programs available out there, many of them free, to do the conversion.
