sdxc cards

well ive heard about a new type of sd card format called sdxc which promises up to 2tb of storage at 300mps write speeds and i was thinking wouldent that be great for a backup archive of all your old videos on such a small card has anyone heard of this yet or does anyone know when its coming out???
