New to this forum and loving all the advice already! I haven’t purchased my HD camcorder yet but I want to be able to record without having to open the LCD display. If anyone can suggest certain makes and models that allow this I would really appreciate it.
Would a remote (LANC or something similar) offer this ability?
Thanks in advance
ummm….any camcorder can record without having the LCD open.
Most of the consumer level camcorders without a viewfinder rely on the LCD as one. And most will stop recording when that is closed, putting it into power-save mode, to save on battery since you can’t see what you are shooting. If you are trying to keep it in a low profile most will allow you to flip it over so that the screen is displayed with the back against the camera and still be recording.
