Hi, I’m new to DV in general. I’ve aquired a G4 that has Finalcut Pro 4 on it.
Is there a good book anyone can recommend to get started? I know that version 5 is out cause I just went to the apple site. Should I junk 4 or learn that first? Can anyone recommend online resources that I should check out?
Thanks in advance.

Check Apple’s upgrade website – http://www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade/ – it looks like (if you have the install CD’s/DVD’s for FCP 4, then you’ll be able to upgrade to the new FCP Studio Universal version in March for just $199. Great deal if you ask me!
In the time between now and getting the new FCP Studio Universal s/w upgrade, I would learn FCP 4 from the built-in tutorials. Also, there are plenty of training resources for FCP…. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-47,GGLD:en&q=Final+Cut+Pro+Training
