need help on automated recording of short video clips

For a festival we want to make recordings of visitors by connecting a camera/webcam/network camera to a computer. Bij pushing a button on a touchscreen the camera should automatically record 10 seconds of footage and then store this to the computer memory, to be edited later.

The live recording must be on-screen for other people to see.

Any experience / suggestions on how to proceed? Tnx!
