I’ve got a Canon HV-20 camcorder. I have a Toshiba laptop with NO FireWire port and no card slot to add one. How can I get the video from my camcorder into my laptop for editing? Thanks.

Yes, the Canon HV20 has a USB port but that is only for transferring still images.

Still looking for solutions and options. Maybe I need to purchase a video transfer device?

      Hi,

Check on both side of your laptop chance are to find a slot or a double slot to insert a firewire card or special card this is a PCMCIA Firewire card probably Dlink has this.

      Regards,
