Rotoscoping – is the process of separating an element from any given shot. Traditional rotoscoping involved enlarging each frame of film, and then physically cutting out the selected element one frame at a time. These early methods had serious drawbacks. Physically cutting out the element in each frame by hand, is extremely time consuming; since each frame is cut individually, the edges of an element appear to jitter during playback. With the integration of computer aid in film techniques, we now have digital rotoscoping where each frame of film is scanned into the computer, and the elements are separated using software. This process is much faster then the traditional approach, and does not produce the drawback of jittery edges.

Isn’t great to be able to know this techniques? X-D
