I just bought a Azden SGM-X mic from the videoguys and mounted it atop my GS200. The mic is picking up an unacceptable amount of motor noise from the camera. The internal mic seems to do a better job at masking this noise. I noticed that the next model (the X1) comes with a shockmount. Does anyone have experience with these and will it help with the noise? That model is XLR and I’d hate to have to convert it to mini.
TIA
What you need is a to get a mic that is slightly longer. The problem is just how the mic sits on your cam. The SGM-X1 is longer, and that shoulg get teh motor noise out of the mics audio pick up range.
Give us a call on Monday 800 323-2325 and we will work out the swap for the longer (and a better) mic.
