I just ordered the Sony PD170 and I got the Libec THM20 tripod with fluid head.
Has anyone used this tripod? While reading the posts I see everyone talking about Bogen. I couldnt get one. I’m hoping the Libec will be good until I can do better.
Never used it, but it’s listed as a ball base fluid head, e.g. not a "true" fluid head.
It’ll be much better than the cheap Wal-Mart camera tripods, but it will probably leave you stuck on pans and tilts. If you’re not doing too much camera motion, or if the beginning of your pans or tilts can be lopped off, you’ll be just fine. I have a super cheap tripod that I use for my stationary camera at weddings, and it gets the job done.
Let us know how it works for you.
Hi there! Where did you order your Sony PD170 from? May I ask, how much was it?
