I am investing in a Panasonic AF101 and am looking for lens advice! I am after a cinematic look for short fiction with the nice depth of field and a low F stop for low light shooting. If possible a zoom lens would be great too. I want to spend as little as possible but my budget is around the 1000 mark and I can go over this if absolutely necessary.
I am used to fixed lens cameras so all this choice in lenses is a little daunting quite frankly!
Any thoughts? Thanks!
It’s hard to find zoom lenses that have a large F-stop, but are within your budget. Prime lenses are usually sharper than zoom lenses too.
I’d suggest Canon’s Ultrasonic line of lenses. A 28mm, 50mm, and 85mm should get you off on the right foot.
Depending on where you’re located, you may be able to find all these lenses on craigslist and stay within your budget.
