  This video camera has a sd memory card slot.
  
  Since the camera was first introduced memory card capacities have risen. Can anyone tell me if I can record video to sd memory disc rather than the DVX tape?

  You may want to try to find a copy of the operators manual. Some of those style cameras only used the SD card to savesnapshot picturesto. They also had a 4 gB card size limit as to what they could handle.
