I want to take a feed off of a sound board and feed it into the xlr input on my camera. I am using a panasonic ag-dvc80 and the only line/hook up out of the board appears to be a 1/4 " out. Can I convert this to xlr and if so do I just go straight into the camera or do I select fantom power? I obviously have never tried this before. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are taking a line out of mixer, you might need to attenuate the vry hot signal before sending it into the mic input on your camera. Something like the Rolls DB25 directbox or in line adapters from Hosa, Shure or Audio Technica should do the trick.
