I bought canon XL2 and when i shoot footages in places where there is not a lot of light, many runing dots appear especialy if there is dark colors like black. I know that there is not a lot of light but someone told me that you can control that in camera so the dots will go away, and i will have good quality. But i don’t know how, please help me? Thank you.
The dots may be camera grain, which occurs in dark scenes. The only way to make it go away is to open the camera iris up as far as possible, and/or bring the gain down to as low in dB as possible.
You can also work with the pedastal and coring values in the custom setups. Also noise reduction. Also set the black value to press. Read all about it on page 68 of the manual.
