i have just been loaned a stedicam jr and I have a sony HD fx1 I cannot get this thing to balance. it seems to need to ballance right between 2 screw points.

Since the Steadicam Jr isn’t designed for the FX1, finding balance is gonna be a bit tough. But here’s what I’ve done:
Add weight to the bottom portion of the Steadicam Jr. I’ve taped two D- sized batteries, and wraped an ankle weight with success. Use one or the other.
Remove accesories like extra mics or recievers. I’d remove any wide angle lenses and matte boxes also.
Happy improvising!
